GA CR - Announcement of the EXPRO and JUNIOR STAR competitions for 2027
The GA CR has announced EXPRO and JUNIOR STAR 2027 calls for tenders.
IMPORTANT DEADLINES:
- Deadline: 20 April 2026
- Deadline for submission of the application to the MU Research Ethics Committee: 30 March 2026 till 17:00. More information here. Which projects require an ethics review can be found here.
- PERSONNEL COSTS – until 30 March 2026 send a list of the people in the project team that you plan to include in the project proposal to the Personnel Officer (contacts by department below). Through the secretary of the institute, you will be provided the salary range that you can plan for each employee.
- Proposals will be submitted via the new GRITA application. You can log in to the application using your national ID (Foreigners who do not have a Czech birth number or national ID can log in using their name and password). Instructions for using the application will be available here. Once the proposal has been created and Masaryk University, Faculty of Science has been added as an organization, the project department will have access to the proposal; there is no need to add anyone else to the project.
- GRITA - filling in the budget + justification for review: 9 April 2026
- Knowledge security – if the project concerns a risky field or you will be cooperating with an institution from selected risky countries, you must fill in the Security tab in ISEP no later than 14 days before the competition deadline and submit it to the MU security manager for review.
- Deadline for initiation of electronic approval of the Project proposal records in ISEP by the investigator: 15 April 2026
- Submission of the filled affidavit of co-funding (if required) by email to the project manager, (it will be approved electronically): 15 April 2026
- The final proposal will be sent in the GRITA application by an authorized employee of the project department. The proposal will not be sent via the data box. Deadline for completing the proposal for submission: 20 April 2026 till 9:00 a.m. Since the application is completely new and we do not know how it will work, we recommend not leaving the finalization of the project until the last minute.
(All of the above also applies if the Faculty of Science MU participates as a co-applicant.The proposed budget for the Faculty of Science must be reviewed even if you are involved as a co-applicant or as a team member in a project submitted by another MU faculty. In all such cases, an approved Faculty of Science cover sheet is required before the proposal can be submitted in ISEP.)
CHANGE IN THE LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF PROPOSALS:
For projects starting in 2027, the rules for the number of proposals submitted are changing. One person may submit a maximum of one proposal as a principal investigator or co-principal investigator in each of the following categories in all competitions announced in a given calendar year starting in 2027 and in all calls starting in 2027:
- Standard projects, International projects and LA grants
- JUNIOR STAR and EXPRO
- PIF and Restart Grants
One person may be either the principal investigator or co-investigator of only one project starting in 2027. More information here.
